Superb sculpture in royal yellow marble depicting the lion of St. Mark. Work in the round, carved from a single block of marble, completely and only by hand. The work has Venetian origin, private collection, 19th century. Unique in its kind, to consider absolutely the size that are not exaggerated nor small and also the weight. Perfect even if resting on a column. The lion is depicted with the book open and engraved with the classic Latin phrase that translated means "Peace to you, Mark, my evangelist. Sublime, refined and elegant, more unique than rare, exclusive. To highlight the quality of anatomy, attention to detail maniacal, the wings are also carved internally, is complete and perfect in every way. The royal yellow marble is one of the finest marbles in the world, the veining bright and amazing. The patina of the marble is perfect. The work speaks for itself, of unparalleled beauty.
