Renaissance Style Fireplace in Noir de Mazy marble, ca.1860

An exceptional, large and sturdy fireplace, made out of the blackest-black marble: Noir de Mazy. Ca.1860, the period of the house it once stood. The double moulded shelf is resting on a serpentine frieze which is nicely carved in high relief, depicting an androgynous face in the center, in a baroque setting, flanked by some trailing Acanthus leafs. Rich carved, scrolling endblocks. The panelled console jambs are also decorated with a floral motif. Fireplace will be delivered with it's own cast-iron fireback and old marble floortiles to make a frontfloor, Carrara or Noir de Mazy. Worldwide shipping. Burmese Mandalay Buddha Statue

Originating from Burma (Myanmar). This beautiful aged, well conserved, wooden Buddha, nicely ornated and decorated with inlaid green glass, is standing on a Lotus base. It was once largely gold-gilded, some traces of this gilding are still visible. Late nineteenth century. The presence of a Buddha statue serves as a focal pount for reflection and mindfulness, anhancing the overall ambiance of your space.

Cast Iron fireback, XVIII century

Beautiful and very old cast iron relief fireback or back-splash, ca.1750. In good condition, nicely aged by time and use.

Fireback in Cast-iron Gothic Coat of Arms

This very old and beautiful aged cast iron fireback dates back to the Gothic period ! This period spanned from the mid 12th to the late 16th century. It originated in France and than spread across Europe, during the high and late middle ages. This fireback is depicting a Coat of Arms, highlighted by thick twisted ropes. Also 3 faces to see. Note the orb at the bottom, as well as the little ropes, topped by some Fleur de Lis and the two dolphins (a kind of created and barbed fish). All beautiful aged by use and time. Origin: France.
