Igor Talwinski (Poland 1907- France 1983) ca 1950's A wonderful oil painting portrait on canvas by the much loved artist Talwinski, depicting a young woman 'Anna' with black hair. On the back a paper sticker that says: Talwinski Anna nr 32.  Signed lower right corner.  In fair to good condition overall, no frame.    Dim: 55 x 46 cm  Igor Talwinski was born in 1907 in Warsaw to Paris in 1983. Polish painter, active in England and France. He was mobilized in September 1939 and was taken prisoner by the Germans. After the liberation of the Pow camp in 1945, he settled in Paris. There, he learned the craft of painting. Igor Talwinski was a notable Polish painter who became popular in the period after 1945. After the Second World War he moved to Paris, where he lived for the rest of his career. Since 1951, he exhibited at the Paris Salon. His paintings also presented at solo shows in London and New York. He painted mostly portraits and subtle acts of young girls. His niece was the model for many of these paintings. His work is highly coveted by Fine Art collectors around the world.

Secured with official Vatican wax seals to guarantee authenticity. This pieces is made of gilded brass, featuring a glass-fronted chamber (theca) and a frame in good condition.

An antique almost anthropomorphic carved Black Forest wooden deer mount with antlers. The expression of this king of the forest is so human that it brings Roman tales about metamorphosis to live. It is very curious and it has a true presence in the room. 
 

This deer has a lovely patina and shine to it.
It's in good condition for it's age and material. One line on the face and possibly (but maybe made this way on purpose) small parts on the ends of the antler branches missing. Not noticeable.

An antique Himalayan dragon or locally called Druk shaped bronze hanging incense or perfume burner that adorned the temple. 

This well used (see traces of use and residue on the snout) example has bone inlaid eyes and a lovely patina. 


It comes from a private Himalayan collection. This is an authentic piece and it was locally collected in the 1950's.

A rare bas-relief in alabaster with traces of gilding and monogrammed on the lower base IDH for Jasper de Hemeler (1587-1637 Malines) who started working as a student in 1608 and had his own workshop after some years and worked until 1632. 
 

This religious plaque by his hand depicts most surely an interpretation of The Last Supper. 
Nice gilded details and high quality carving. Typical for De Hemeler. 
 

It is in fair condition for an antique of 400 plus years. It sits in an oak frame which is probably original to the plaque. 
There is superficial dirt, there are small parts missing and there are cracks and lines. Please see the many photo's for the condition. Price is accordingly.

After the original by Jean-Antoine Houdon (1741-1828) a bronze bust of the philosopher Voltaire. 
 

This bronze bust with many traces of gilding is mounted on a marble base (minor chips to the base) and in good order. One small dent in the foot of the bust but hardly noticeable.

A lapis lazuli carved duck, laid in with red jaspis, malachite and black agate adorned with silver feathers and feet. The lovely figure stands on a lapis lazuli base. 
 

It's in good condition. One line in the base but stable. Minor chips to one side of the base. Not very noticeable. 
The duck is complete. A few normal lines in the lapis, as expexted. Tiny line on the tale. See the pictures. 
 

A wonderful collector's piece of semi precious stone carved birds and Kunstkammer style objects.

A lange and rare Empire cut crystal, certainly Baccarat but unsigned, bronze gilded perfume bottle. 

Classical decoration of winged sphinxes and dancing women with different attributes surrounded by cornucopia and acanthus leaf borders. 

The stopper with the Empirical Eagle and laurel wreath symbolising the Emperor's power and might. 
 

In very good condition overall, normal wear to the ormulu and one or two minuscule flee bites to the cut crystal.
