A rare and unusual 19th century Palladian style fireplace, made out of famous Belgian marbles: Brèche de Waulsort and Noir de Mazy, a perfect match !  A well designed, impressive fireplace. It has a beautiful, deep concave frieze, with a Noir de Mazy lozenge panel in the center, beneath a shaped and stepped, breakfront shelf.  The jambs and header are with a strong bollection. This fireplace will be delivered with original Noir de Mazy marble floortiles to make a frontfloor. We have also in stock: Original foyer-tiles, also in Palladian style. An imposing, striking Empire II chimneypiece, named Pattes de Lion or Lions Paws.  Nicely carved in subdued Carrara marble. This marble has a Statuary quality (no bleu or grey in it), which adds a distinct shine and warm raffinée. Fireplace was found in an important Maison Maître in Brussels. Comparing the execution of this Lions Paws fireplace to other ones: All the sculpture works on this fireplace are above average.  Inclusiv an original bronze/ormolu, to mount to the frieze-center, if you like. A very charming, nicely carved chimneypiece-surround, style Louis XV.  Can be replaced as a front-model as well as a surround-model (deep sidepanels with tablet-retours).  Beautiful carved cartouche in the center of the panelled linteau. Panelled, console jambs on sturdy footblocks. The whole jambs are made out of one single piece of marble, it's not always like that. The Belgian marble has a beautiful warmth, colors are hoovering between soft-brown and orange with tones of grey and white. All parts are in optimal condition. We have grey-black refractaire, little bricks ànd original Louis XV style foyer-tiles to finish this fireplace in the most original way. A very old cast iron fireback. Ca.1750-1800. French. Finely and rich decorated.  The central field features a Fleur de Lys decoration, flanked by Louis XVI style objects, surmounted by a royal crown.  Beautiful aged by time and use.  The visible vertical line is the result of the space between two planks in which the original model was made.  Worldwide shipping.

An exceptional, large and sturdy fireplace, made out of the blackest-black marble: Noir de Mazy. Ca.1860, the period of the house it once stood. The double moulded shelf is resting on a serpentine frieze which is nicely carved in high relief, depicting an androgynous face in the center, flanked by some trailing Acanthus leafs. Rich carved, scrolling endblocks. The panelled console jambs are also decorated with a floral motif.
