etching stamp   At the suggestion of the rector of the University of Padua, Carlo Scarpa  designed  these 'Centro da tavolo' for the various faculties of the university. The eagle, which is holding a sword in his claws, as a symbol of justice for the Faculty of Law. Other figures from this series are  the rooster with a skull (medicine/surgery), swan and book (literature/philosophy).
