18th C Transition "sauteuse" commode, Grenoble

18th C Transition period "sauteuse" chest of drawers in marquetry from the Grenoble region.  Richly decorated with a bird pattern. Marble top. Gilt bronze decoration, handles and keyholes.  Although the wood, pattern of the marquetry and structure reminds one of the work of Jean Francois Hache, attribution is not certain. However we are certain that the  chest is exceptional and illustrates the talent of the best cabinet-makers of the Grenoble region.

This secretaire has several wooden plates painted cherubs and putti on the front and on the amounts framed with bronze ribbons finely chiseled. Imitation "Porcelaine de Sèvres"
