Large and impressive pair of Nankin cache-pots in crackled glazed stoneware, decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with confronting dragons among flowering peonies and scrolling foliage. The rims are encircled by stylised geometric key-pattern borders, while the lower section shows moulded wave motifs in relief. The stands were made to display the planters and are in the Chinese export taste of the late 19th century. Dimensions: Cache-pots: H55 by 65cm. / H21.65 by 24.41 inch. Cache-pots on stands: H102 cm / H40.16 inch.
